My story

If this image looks and feels far too familiar to you, you have come to the right place. This 4.7lb. heart warrior wonder is my son, Sky Mattan. Doctors told us that his best chance for survival was to receive a heart transplant, but he was so small they estimated we would be in the hospital for more than a year. Sky had other plans! You can read more about his miraculous healing story here.

When we got home from the hospital, we were a total disaster. I really wanted to connect with other Mamas in challenging circumstances, but I couldn’t find one. It made me feel even more alone to go through issues like: bottle and breast feeding aversions, silent reflux, hypotonia, hyper sensitivity and reactivity, cyanosis, and compromised immunity.

In addition to the medical challenges, all of us had to work through major PTSD. Thanks to the help from psychotherapists, social workers trained in hospital trauma, emotional release breathwork, somatic body work, ketamine therapy, and the grand gift of time, things started to shift.

Sky is a year and a half now- and although things have settled, we were told that he most likely need heart surgery in the next year, and are also still seeing a PT weekly to help catch up with his gross motor skills. We are not out of the woods but we have definitely come to a clearing, and for that I am so grateful.

I truly believe that in order to heal we need to be seen and felt in our full experience and THIS is why I created the Heartfelt Mama’s Healing Circle. Join me and other Mama’s who can meet you right where you are.

“Britt has an amazing ability to see people and was able to help me express exactly what I was feeling but had no idea how to articulate. From the big life themes to the slight yet profound adjustments to the way I live my life and how I choose to mother, I am feeling more vibrant and healthy than ever! I feel blessed to have worked with Britt and strongly recommend her.”
